London : World Athletics on Tuesday moved the deadline for qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics to December 2020 in anticipation of a Covid-19 infection. The decision was made in consultation with the Athletics Commission, Area Presidents and Council. Eligibility for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is suspended from April 4 to November 30. “If any athlete qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics during this time, it will not be taken into account,” a statement from the World Athletics Association said.
