In Odisha 42 More Tablighi Attendees Register After CMs Appeal
Bhubaneswar: As many as 42 more attendees of Tablighi Jamaat, who had returned to the State after taking part in the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi have identified themselves following Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s appeal, revealed Odisha government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 management Subroto Bagchi today.Addressing the scheduled press briefing on COVID-19 preparedness and monitoring at Geeta Govinda Sadan here Bagchi said that before Chief Minister’s appeal, the State government had information on only 28 Tablighi Jamaat returnees.”The Chief Minister has thanked these persons and their family members on this account,” he stated.The Chief Spokesperson appealed if any Tablighi Jamaat attendees are still in the closet because of fear, apprehension or stigma to come forward and register with 104 helpline.He said if any of them is a suspect for COVID-19 the government will make all arrangements for them and if they are infected the State government will take up their treatment free of cost.”To keep yourself safe and our family safe please come forward,” Bagchi reiterated.
