Newdelhi : Covid-19 vaccine will be available in market by September-October! Serum Institute of India, a major vaccine maker, said on Sunday that it plans to launch production of Covid-19 vaccines developed by Oxford University in the next two to three weeks, and that the human clinical trial will be successful by October. The Pune-based company is said to have partnered with Oxford University, one of the seven world-class vaccine companies.
“Our team is working closely with Dr. Hill of Oxford University and we will start vaccination production within 2-3 weeks. We expect to produce 5 million doses per month for the first 6 months, after which we expect to increase production. Adarsh Punawala, CEO of the Seram Institute India, said 10 million doses would be produced per month.
He also said that in the past, Serum Institute India had collaborated with scientists at the University of Oxford for the malaria vaccination project and both were successful in it. If the test is successful with the required safety and assurance, the Covid-19 vaccine will be available in the market by September-October. We will start testing for this vaccine in India in the next 2-3 weeks
